Job Description
Employment and Mental Wellness Coach
Duties:
Reporting to the SDF Project Coordinator, the Incumbent assists unemployed and/or underemployed individuals in identifying their workplace opportunities, providing mental wellness coaching, and promoting, facilitating and monitoring the various elements of the Skills Development fund project. Specifically, life skills, mental health and employment coaching, job referrals and workplace monitoring. Similarly, the incumbent assists employers, with job matching and developing the training plan and supporting mental wellness. To be effective for the participant and the employer, the incumbent will have the knowledge and regularly interact with community agencies that cover the full range of mental health support services.

Duties:

- Post-secondary 3-year diploma/degree or equivalent in Human Services, Adult Education Diploma, Literacy and Career Counselling, Mental Health coaching, Resilience Training, or Career Development Practitioner
- Experience working with mental health initiatives, career and employment guidance, mental wellness workshop delivery, and employment placements and direct service to employers
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Must have worked in a human services environment where client needs are assessed and action taken to resolve problems
