Our Client, located in Brantford is looking for a Senior Project Coordinator to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities
• Use standard designs and bills of materials as the framework to design, coordinate and schedule retractable roof building projects from confirmation drawings to closeout.
• Work independently or with a small team to analysis designs, design risks, scheduling, and construction.
• Modify standard parts and create custom designed components and structures to suit project design requirements. Create and manage complete project layouts for design and installation purposes. Create shop drawings for internal and external manufacturing.
• Liaison with customers, third party engineers, local authorities, contractors and the company personnel to obtain information, design details to create, manage and meet project timelines
• Source and work with international vendors and sub-contractors to acquire project specific materials and services.
• Liaison with city officials, engineers and architects regarding project permitting, and zoning when required. Formal correspondence with clients and architect will be required.
• When required maintain critical project management information like change orders, design changes, material substitutions, payment breakouts and requests
• Occasionally travel to site (North America and International) when required to meet clients and associates pre and post building design and construction

Education
• Engineering degree/diploma or equivalent in Architectural, Mechanical, Construction or Structural Engineering or similar

Skills
• Inventor 2010 3D design or Solidworks
• Able to take a project from design to closeout.
• Able to read and produce architectural and structural drawings from foundation plans through to roof design
• Able to organize and execute multiple projects at different stages of the schedule

Experience
• Agricultural building and support equipment engineering and design
• Steel structure building design and building practices
• Project design and coordination
• Project coordination and management practices ie. Design submittal packages, cost tracking and management, material procurement
• Design engineering office practices and procedures – ie standard methods of part number, filing, information tracking etc
• Project management in an international business environment
• 7 to 10 years experience in project design, coordination and management
• Have travelled internationally on occasion to meet with clients or supporting team members during the execution of a design/build or construction projects.
• Have managed multiple projects from concept through to completion

Short Term - first 6 months
• Compile a solid understanding of internal systems, procedures, processes and products
Medium Term - 6 months – 2 years
• Design and coordinator international projects
Longer Term - 3 years plus
• Fully functional in product design, project coordination and capable of managing other department personnel throughout projects
• Have designed all product types
• Have travelled to international projects
• Attended trade shows
