| General Labourer QUALIFICATIONS: • Completion of secondary school or equivalent. • Ability to estimate changes in time and temperature which will be required to correct a production fault. • Ability to solve production issues as they arise, such as conveyer belt shut downs, etc. • Follow priorities set by supervisors and sequence their tasks within a set framework. • Ability to work on tasks that are generally repetitive in nature. • Ability to interact with co-workers to exchange information about tasks and to co-ordinate work. • Possess communication skills to interact with supervisors and to receive work orders. • Ability to work mainly independently. Work with partners to carry out tasks which require co-operation, such as lifting heavy objects. • Ability to operate computerized equipment, such as weight scales or labeling machines. Use computer-controlled equipment to monitor processes, such as casting. • Learn continuously on the job. Take training in first aid and in the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS). Take part in in-house training sessions to learn about new products or processes. • Knowledge of health and safety regulations RESPONSIBILITIES: • Load and unload parts in safe and productive manner • Complete ODS and SPC charts • Operate machine tools to perform repetitive machining operations such as turning, milling, drilling, boring, honing, broaching, grinding or other machining operations. • Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments as required. • Work to continuously improve all areas of productivity and reduce scrap. • Inform supervisor or team lead of non-conformance issues. • Maintain cleanliness of work station and meet 5S requirements. • Submit lean & safety suggestions. |
