Accounting Manager - Brantford On
Solis Foods Corporation Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high quality snack inspired foods for both in- home and out-of-home consumption. Our state of the art manufacturing and distribution facilities, located in St. Mary’s, Ontario and Calgary Alberta and Sunrise Warehousing Company 3PL Distribution Facility in Brantford Ontario, service clients with the mission of ‘providing the highest quality products with exceptional service and great value for its customers’.
The Accounting Manager position is accountable for the financial accounting of the company, to include the production of regular financial reports, maintenance of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with GAAP.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct the operations of the financial accounting team
- Manage and develop staff through daily interaction, performance reviews and training.
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions, review and verify accuracy of work completed.
- Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Issue timely and complete financial statements including consolidated statements
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances to budget/forecast and report issues and recommendations
- Monitor debt levels, highlight in advance any cash issues, present recommendations and ensure compliance with debt covenants
- Meets accounting financial standards by providing accounting department annual budget information; monitoring expenditures; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions
- Prepare and forecast the cash flow of the company as required, complete this by monitoring bank balances, cash requirements and investing excess funds
- Prepare the weekly bank reconciliations and record bank transactions and loan payments
- Authorizes cash disbursements by verifying check amounts against invoices, authorizing cheques and wire transfers
- Approves ledger entries by auditing transactions
- Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls
QUALIFICATIONS
- Accounting Designation ( CPA, CGA or CMA) and/or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in financial reporting
- Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite), Great Plains
- Strong organizational and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines for reporting
- Excellent communication skills
- University or college
- 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory position
