Job Description
Randstad Engineering has partnered with Union Gas, and are currently recruiting for a contract Technical Writer to join their team in Union Gas' Head Office (located in Chatham).
This role supports the development and sustainment of operating manuals and related information used throughout Union Gas in a consistent manner, by working with client groups across the company on an on-going basis. In addition, this role ensures the timely and regular communication of this information to users across the company.
Specific responsibilities would include:
- Manage new and updated content for various manuals/programs at Union Gas. This includes collaborating with various contacts at Union Gas from the draft to approved stages.
- Edit and format documentation to accepted standards
- Develop and maintain systems for managing, presenting and archiving documentation.
- Develop templates/standards and train collaborating authors how to effectively use writing tools.
- Publish new and updated content on the Company Intranet and on portable media (DVD) for use on company laptops, and publish hardcopy updates for insertion in company-issued binders according to set deadlines.
- Maintain operational manuals and corresponding change control log to monitor and track updates.
- Deliver client focused solutions to ensure documentation is current and accessible.
As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
- 1-3 years experience in a Technical Writing or similar role.
- Post secondary education in related field
- Excellent communication; both written and verbal.
- Strong problem solving skills.
