Job Description

The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is responsible for accurately collecting, verifying and processing bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for King’s, under the direction of the Payroll and Benefits Manager. The successful candidate will:
  • Assist the Manager of Payroll and Benefits with the collection, verification and processing of payroll and benefit information for bi-weekly and monthly payrolls in a timely manner and in compliance with legislation and company policies.
  • Process Records of Employment for resignations, terminations or leaves.
  • Input and maintain accurate records for all employees, ensuring filing is up to date and records are organized according to Fiscal Year End and Government requirements.
  • Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with preparation of Fiscal and Payroll year-end reporting including processing T4, T4ANR, PSSD, EHT reports and any other information to be filed according to required deadlines.
  • Assist with payroll accruals, pension and benefit reconciliations
  • Able to clearly explain and assist employees with any general questions or issues related to payroll or benefits.
  • Ensure payroll processes are up to date and accurate, according to legislation, policies and collective agreements within the College.
  • Provide back up support for absences within the Payroll Office.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (unless identified as preferred):

The successful candidate must have:
  • A College Diploma in Payroll Administration
  • Bachelor’s/Honours Degree (preferred)
  • At least 3-5 years of previous relevant experience with payroll functions
  • Payroll Compliance Certificate or Certified Payroll Manager through National Payroll Institute
  • Background in accounting and general office management
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with individuals during high stress situations with a professional and empathetic approach to problem solving.
  • High degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail, issue resolution and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently as well as in a team.
  • Motivated to work in a fast paced ever changing environment and to meet strict deadlines while handling multiple demands simultaneously.
TYPE OF JOB:

Permanent Full Time – 35 hours per week

EFFECTIVE DATE:

As soon as possible

SALARY RANGE:

SSG 13 - $61,118 - $74,465 per annum, dependent on experience
