Junior Accountant

We are, BNE Contractors, www.bnecontractors.com, an industry leader in providing high performance floor solutions for concrete floors in commercial, retail, industrial, institutional and food production facilities and we need an experienced Junior Accountant. Our services include; highly polished concrete floors, epoxy coatings, polyurethane and seamless flooring, concrete sealers, moisture vapour control systems, and dust proofing and densifiers. We provide coast to coast service from our Cambridge head office.
 
Reporting to the Accounting Manager you will perform a variety of accounting activities:
 
Specific Duties:

• General accounting duties
• Prepare journal entries
• Monthly reconciliation of inventory accounts
• Preparation of monthly sales reports
• A/R / collections  
• Invoicing, including knowledge of holdbacks
• A/P / purchase orders
• Review & question expenses
• Payroll knowledge
• Job costing
• Inventory review  and  confirmation & updating prices
• Some administrative duties

 
Skills, Technical and Behavioral Competencies Required:
 

• Diploma in Accounting.
• Three to five years an accounting department within a construction environment preferred
• Experience in job costing
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications particularly Excel
• Experience with Simply Accounting
• Detail oriented.
• Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving
• Able to work both independently and within a team environment
• Can think and work on their own and under pressure
• Good communication skills.
