Lucas Professional Search Group is currently assisting a company in Kitchener, Ontario in their recruit for a District Accountant.

Responsibilities include:
- assist the Controller in the preparation of annual budgets and reports on key performance indicators
- assist in the implementation and monitoring of company financial policies and procedures
- perform income statement and balance sheet reviews
- work with external and internal auditors to ensure review periods are coordinated to meet deadlines
- complete work to facilitate accounting closes and period financial reporting ie A/P batch posting, journal entries, G/L review, bank recs., etc.
- work closely with the District Manager in the analysis of district operations
- work closely with clerical staff in a training role
- opportunity to transition into a supervisor role

Qualifications include:
- minimum 3 years experience in an accounting position
- CPA certification or in progress of obtaining this designation
- effective problem solving skills with good communication
- proficient with Excel, Outlook, Word, Windows operating systems and accounting based software
- effective time management and organization skills
- strong attention to detail
- previous training/supervisor experience
