Job Summary

Work with Supplier base, New Product Development Team, Current QE’s and APQP Team dedicated to quality planning activities and component verification

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Developing and initiating standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation from suppliers
  • Devise sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data
  • Conduct Gage Studies and Report Results
  • Maintain supplier required documentation related to APQP, PPAP, and IMDS activities on new and existing projects
  • Establish and maintain the program to evaluate precision and accuracy of Inspection Measuring and Test Equipment (IMTE) and analytical related equipment and facilities
  • Review and approve supplier PPAP’s in conjunction with current production QE’s
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to asses cost and responsibility
  • Review and maintain Vuteq supplier quality manual
  • Control document and data requirements under the TS management system
  • Work directly with the suppliers and review countermeasure responses
  • Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability from suppliers
  • Compiles and writes training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities

Additional Responsibilities

  • Participate in root cause analysis and verify effectiveness of implemented corrective actions from suppliers
  • Direct a team of Receiving Inspection representatives to ensure supplier adherence to part quality expectations
  • Travel is required in this position within North America, Central America, South America and Asia when deemed necessary by Management

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma/Degree from College or University; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2-3 years dealing directly with suppliers

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

  • ASQ, CQT, CQA, CQE an asset

Computer Skills

  • Microsoft Office, Internet software, CPK software

Physical Effort and Requirements of this Position
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations

Reasoning Abilities

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
