| Raw Material Worker QUALIFICATIONS: • Requires a high school diploma. • Minimum two years of experience in fabrication. • Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practice, and procedures. • Able to accurately read drawings within department specifications. • Proficient in use of calipers and micrometers. • Able to work independently with little supervision in a fast paced environment. • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. • Performs a variety of tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for setting up and operating one or more of the following machines independently with drawings provided: shear, punch, mechanical break press, hydraulic brake press, mills, horizontal band saw, and operate overhead crane. • Load and unload metal parts from machine, push start button to activate machine cycle and stack finished metal parts onto skid or in a bin. • Operate machine to fabricate first-off parts or assemblies and verify conformance of work-piece to specifications visually and using gauges, such as micrometer, go-not-go and calipers. • Grind, file, de-burr and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces using hand tools and portable power tools. • Inspect product quality using precision measuring tools and check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. • Adjust and make minor machine repairs as required. • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned. |
