We are seeking a Director, Human Resources to become an integral member of the leadership team. Reporting to the Vice President Enterprise, this role is responsible for the people at DriverCheck. In this busy and demanding (but rewarding) role, you are responsible to ensure that DriverCheck is on the cutting edge of HR to provide service to all employees, our leadership and our customers. You will also lead, coach and mentor the HR team, the leadership executive teams and the rest of the DC family in all things HR. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Using thoughtful leadership, culture building skills and experience, build the function of HR within the organization 

  • Collaborate with the Executive Leadership team on organizational design and workforce planning—ensuring we get the right people into the DC family, in the right roles 

  • Collaborate and support Executive Leadership- having a seat at the table as a valued member and trusted advisor to the leadership team 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of provincial legislation and Employment Standards Act 

  • Strong understanding of the OHSA and Green Book 

  • Continue to grow the department and organization through maintaining knowledge on any updates to HR legislation and HR best practices 

  • Experienced and competent in the full Microsoft suite (in particular, exceptional Excel skills), WorkForce Now, Custom database E2 and Slack (internal communication system) 

  • Completion of a University degree (ideally with a specialization in Human Resources) 

  • Holding H&S Certification would be considered an asset 

  • CHRL designation 

  • HR experience in the health care industry would be considered an asset 

  • A minimum of three years of experience at the Director level 

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in Human Resources 

  • Ability to communicate in French or Spanish is considered an asset 

  • Excellent presentation skills and comfort with delivering a presentation to the Executive team 

  • Exceptional attention to detail skills 

  • The ability and desire to travel to other parts of Canada once per quarter
