Junior Quality Technician
Location: Waterloo, Ontario
Eclipse Scientific is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Quality Technician. Successful candidate will report to the QA Manager and participate in Quality Control (QC) activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
QC is a process that is used to ensure a certain level of quality in a product by thoroughly examining and testing the quality of products such that it meets or exceeds the objectives established by QA processes/procedures, design requirements and customer’s standard of quality.

Eclipse Scientific is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Quality Technician. Successful candidate will report to the QA Manager and participate in Quality Control (QC) activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
QC is a process that is used to ensure a certain level of quality in a product by thoroughly examining and testing the quality of products such that it meets or exceeds the objectives established by QA processes/procedures, design requirements and customer’s standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control
- Analyze and interprets blueprints, sample data, and other materials to determine specifications for inspection and testing procedures
- Develop product inspection checklists and quality metrics
- Observe and monitor production operations and equipment function
- Test and measure finished products, components, or assemblies for functioning, operation, and accuracy, to verify adherence to quality specifications
- Mark items for acceptance or rejection, record test results and inspection data, remove defective items from production and designate reason for removal, and report defects to the QA/Product Manager
- Follow work instruction documents and procedures to operationally inspect the Eclipse-owned service equipment upon return from jobs
- May fabricate, install, position, or connect components, parts, finished products, or instruments for testing or operational purposes
- Create and maintain QA documentation including processes and work instructions
- Implement and follow up on corrective and preventive actions to bring the company into ISO compliance
- Monitoring supplier quality, including supplier audits, controls, and other qualifiers
- Support new product development and continuous improvement by integrating quality control tools (e.g. six sigma, lean etc.) into processes
- Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization
- Educate other employees in the line of production about quality standards and persuade staff to adopt and incorporate quality methods into their work
- College diploma in a technical field related to Quality, Production, or Design
- 2-4 years’ experience in Quality environment, manufacturing or assembly facility
- Experience in conducting requirements and gap analysis
- Experience in developing test plans and checklists, for hardware and software products
- Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organization
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced office setting
- Superior organization and problem-solving skills
- Work well with a team and have the ability to work with little supervision
- Excellent computer skills with the ability to record, analyze, and report test results from a spreadsheet or a database
