JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Plant Maintenance Technician is to diagnose and repair a wide range of pieces of equipment and utilities used within the precast manufacturing plants. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required. This role reports to the Plant Manager.  
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform all duties in a safe manner
• Work with other Maintenance team members to accomplish tasks
• Operate equipment such as overhead cranes, concrete batching system, genie booms, boom trucks, forklifts and other hand powered tools
• Troubleshoot and test equipment
• Performing mechanical and electrical maintenance on equipment
• Weld and fabricate as required
• Facilitate the start-up and installation of new equipment
• Schedule maintenance along with production requirements
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and monitoring of all equipment
• Source suppliers and parts for equipment
• Maintain maintenance logs on equipment, where required
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies
• Work flexible hours when required

 
QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of trades related to equipment / electrical etc.  
• Proficient in the use of all tools of trade,
• Minimum of five (5) years practical working experience, and
• Strong work ethic and highly motivated.
