We are a global manufacturer of suspension, spring and specialty products for the transportation industry. With over 100 years in business, we know a few things about great suspensions. Currently available in our Stratford, ON Spring Plant, we require a professional Production Supervisor with experience working in a Unionized Manufacturing environment to join our team.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Responsible for production throughput, safety, training and continuous improvement within our production area. Off shift Supervisors also oversee Maintenance and Quality support workers. Supervisors are also responsible for process improvements and Manufacturing Excellence initiatives to ensure only quality product is delivered to internal and external customers on time.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Effectively lead, supervise, motivate and provide support to a team of employees within any of the production departments. Coach and counsel employees as needed/required

-Respond and be responsive to employee concerns and questions

-Establish and maintain a safe, clean and healthy workplace

-Participate in Manufacturing Excellence initiatives

-Organize workforce based on Production volume schedules and customer demand to best achieve desired results

-Complete monthly Layered Process Audit

-Support Area Manager in all requests

-Produce accurate and timely data for information processing, including shift end reporting and entering data into our MRP system

-Administer company rules and the collective agreement

-Execute the established quality procedures and programs as required with regards to production throughput, quality, safety, training, housekeeping and continuous improvement, maintenance and teamwork

In this role, approximately 90% of your time will be on the floor supervising employees and 10% of your time will be in the office completing reports and meeting with employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess excellent interpersonal skills

• 3-5 years manufacturing experience in the automotive/truck industry or metal working industry in a unionized environment

• Excellent leadership, organization, analytical and communication skills

• Sound judgment in decision making and establishing priorities

• Supervisory style that is firm, fair and consistent

• Proactive and oriented to suggest improvements in systems and procedures

• Familiar with Microsoft Office software (strong Excel skills)

• Current First aid / CPR (or willing to obtain prior to start date)

• Able to demonstrate knowledge of ISO / IATF requirements
