Tirecraft Ontario is proudly Canadian owned and operated expert in tires and automotive services. We are presently seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Intermediate Accountant. The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for maintaining and, in some cases, improving internal/external communication using Financial and Management Reporting Instruments. The Intermediate Accountant will also provide cross-functional support of business-wide efforts to maximize the organization’s profitability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Improve financial reporting instruments by assisting in standardizing the existing monthly accounting close process.
  • Support expansion plans and integration process by working with the CFO on acquisitions to ensure that service is delivered in a seamless and effective manner.
  • Develop performance insight by working with the operations team to master the financial reporting platform.
  • Facilitate margin management efforts by updating vendor fund reporting and providing guidance to senior management.
  • Prepare monthly reports as required by our banking partners.
  • Provide ongoing stewardship on insurance, banking, and working capital activities.
  • Streamline the budgeting process by working with the Senior Management Team on quarterly updates to the financial forecast.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting by learning internal processes that generate significant GL transactions, by reconciling these key GL accounts and recommending changes to process as required.
  • Participate in the maximization of EBITDA by working with senior management in the identification of areas that require process improvement, the implementation of process change and the generation of internal control steps within each process.
  • Ensure the validation of reporting systems by participating with external audit teams and satisfying all audit requests.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced standing of an accounting designation (CPA) preferred
  • A Business Degree from an accredited College/University preferred
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar position
  • A positive/supportive customer service and team focused approach
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to establish priorities and set goals
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to meet strict timelines as well as flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Detail and results driven with the ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task
  • Proficient skills in mathematics and Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a retail environment would be an asset
