Job Description:
Working under the direction of the Manager of Supply Chain, the Buyer General/OR supports the implementation of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital purchasing mandate. This role has a strong working relationship with all Hospital Departments. The Buyer General/OR is responsible for the overall expenditure of hospital funds and the buying functions. This role must understand and implement the Broader Public Section Supply Chain Directives to ensure that organizational funding is not in any way jeopardized. The Buyer General/OR has responsibility for managing vendor relationships on behalf of Cambridge Memorial Hospital.
The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Business and/or Logistics required
- Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) designation, or Logistics Certification (P. Log) is required
- Material Management/Supply Chain certificate/diploma is required
- Proficiency in MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required
- Experience using Meditech is preferred
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Self-motivated team player with strong critical thinking skills required
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities performing time sensitive tasks
- Regular attendance is required
