POSITION TITLE: Heavy Duty Forklift Operator / Shipper

Full / Part Time: Full Time

The Opportunity
ACL Steel Ltd is looking for a heavy duty forklift operator / shipper to join our growing team. The candidate must have heavy duty forklift experience in the structural steel manufacturing industry. The environment at ACL Steel Ltd. is fast paced and ever changing.
Job Responsibilities
•Examine contents and compare with records, such as shipping bills, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of incoming or outgoing shipments
•Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, and shipping orders to route materials
•Record shipment data, such as weight, space availability, and damages and discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, and record keeping purposes
•Pack, seal, label to prepare materials for shipping, using work devices such as hand tools and power tools
•Loading and unloading of incoming freight trucks as required, use of a fork lift is a must
•Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources
•Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, or in person
•Performing day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
•Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time
•Work in a safe manner and observe all safety regulations, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment
•Clean working area and equipment to maintain safety standards
•Report any unsafe conditions or concerns to Supervisors
•Report anything that requires repair to Supervisors
Experience & Education
•Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
•Organization skills, problem solving, integrity, and task prioritization
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills
•Minimum of 5 years related experience
