Sifton Properties Limited invites applications for the following full-time career opportunity at The Westhill Retirement Residence. Reporting to the General Manager, this position is responsible for the co-ordination of all maintenance and housekeeping staff, services, and activities.

Successful Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Persons Screening must be provided prior to beginning employment.

Duties include (but are not limited to):

• Supervise activities and co-ordinate work routines of housekeeping and maintenance staff to meet the requirements of the facility. Hands on repairs to be completed as necessary.
• Ensure compliance to all internal and external policies and regulations relating to the building operations, including maintenance programs, completing fire drills and the co-ordination of other safety training requirements, records and activities
• Co-ordinate all required materials, supplies, equipment and contractors for environmental services
• Maintain approved operational budgets
• Participate in quality assurance and risk management programs
• Provide education and in-service training to employees
• Represent Management on the facility Joint Health and Safety Committee

Applicants should have the following qualifications:

• Three to five years related supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment.
• Demonstrated effective leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Self-directed and team-oriented, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong customer service focus and ability to get along with seniors and people with disabilities. 
• Knowledge and hands-on experience with HVAC systems, preventative maintenance programs, delivery of safety training, budgeting, staff scheduling and supplies management
• Working knowledge of safe work practices including but not limited to Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHIMIS, WSIB, sub-contractors and contracted services. Must be able to promote safe work environments through education and training as well as by policy and practice design. 
• Must be available for on-call as required.
