Our client, a Plastics Manufacturer in the Brantford area, has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Plant Manager to join their team! As a Plant Manager, you would evaluate processes to configure manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices.
Specific responsibilities would include:
- Act as a key member of the facility management team reporting to the General Manager, providing support/direction of the manufacturing process and equipment decisions.
- Facilitating all aspects of process engineering for new and existing products from feasibility testing to process automation.
- Developing chain of tasks for process, establishing methods of production & process directives, resolving problems / bottlenecks, providing analysis of data and generating required compliance documentation.
- Optimize Production Rate and Quality and Safety by eliminating bottlenecks in the Injection molding process.
- Evaluate efficiency and capacity and safety of process equipment.
- Review processing performance with plant team daily.
- Lead safety meetings
- Understand the importance of minimizing environmental impacts in the processing and manufacturing of plastic. Always strive to minimize waste and spills when designing equipment.
As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
- Post-secondary education within Engineering field, preferably mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years of plant management experience
- Experience in plastics manufacturing, specifically with HIPS, PP, HDPE processing is a must.
- Experience with injection molding machines
- Strong background in equipment troubleshooting, plastic process optimization and production
- Strong customer/vendor interaction and interpersonal skills.
- Willing to direct a 24 hour/seven day operation.
- Familiar with food packaging processing requirements
- Familiar with Occupational Health and Safety Regulations as well as food safety programs
