Facilities Management (FM) is responsible for the planning, development, construction, operation, maintenance and stewardship of all the buildings, infrastructure, sites and services within Western's campus community. 

Responsible for Parking Field Operations, the Parking Operations Coordinator ensures that a high and consistent standard of parking control and services is delivered to University staff, faculty, students and visitors. The Coordinator will act as a key resource to ensure communication and customer service needs are at the highest level and is responsible for the management of relationships with internal and external clients. The incumbent ensures all legislative requirements are met and develops and maintains a fully staffed competent workforce. 

Qualifications 
Education:
-   Undergraduate degree
-   Undergraduate degree in Business Administration or CIM preferred

Experience:
-   3 years parking service related experience in an institutional setting, preferably in a university environment
-   3 years supervisory experience
-   3 years bylaw/security management experience preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   Excellent troubleshooting skills with demonstrated ability  to creatively solve problems in the field and conduct first line maintenance
-   Advanced understanding of parking technologies, both software and infrastructure (includes preventative maintenance, restoration and repairs)
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence dealing with all levels of an organization
-   Basic knowledge of law enforcement concepts and parking regulations
-   Knowledge of safety regulations including the Occupational Health & Safety Act
-   Demonstrated ability to ensure financial processes that comply with administrative controls, contracts and other relevant practices that prevent mismanagement of resources
-   Positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
-   Ability to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate the University's events and activities
-   A strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
-   Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and web based programs
-   Proven ability and natural inclination to interact with people in a professional, respectful and diplomatic manner
-   Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coach team members as well as support internal/external clients
-   Strong project management skills and the ability to execute and manage events of various sizes, with familiarity planning  large scale events
-   Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
