Job Description

Supervise department employees of 13 trades personnel
Plan and assign work to hourly employees.
troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial production equipment
- diagnose all electrical concerns and repair/replace parts as required
- perform necessary mechanical repairs, modifications of all production equipment
- initiate a PM program on all machine tools for continuous improvement measures
- perform millwright maintenance using applicable tools and techniques
- know methods, equipment and materials used in the millwright & electrical trade
- knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations
- analyze and troubleshoot situations to adopt an effective course of action

Resolve employee issues through problem resolution, guidance from peers, and reliance of policies and procedures.
Analyze and determine equipment failures for root causes and recommend solutions.
Improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime for equipment failures and repairs.
Participate in decisions to rebuild, repair, or replace equipment.
Develop, analyze and improve Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures.
Train skilled trades and operators on technical issues, operator PMs and similar TPM initiatives.
Engage employee involvement by leading equipment improvement teams.
Lead Plant equipment improvement and maintenance projects.
Develop methods to improve maintenance effectiveness.

Project management abilities, including problem solving, time management, planning, and leadership, are essential. Must be able to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with plant management, department supervisors and hourly employees on various equipment issues. Candidate must display proficiency in computer applications.

- minimum 5 years experience in a similar role
- must have obtained Millwright- A double ticket with an Electrician Certification of Qualification seen as an asset
- ability to problem solve and apply corrective actions
- PLC experience an asset
- must be available to work rotating 2 shifts
- ability to work independently and in a team environment
- understanding of PC and network configurations

Required experience:

  • Supervisory skills in Maintenance: 5 years
