Job Description
Big Viking Games is a leading social and mobile game development studio. The primary responsibility of a full-time Corporate Marketing Manager is to be responsible for planning and executing the direction of various company marketing initiatives & PR strategies. The candidate will be working closely alongside the company’s Product Marketing Manager, and will directly report to the CEO.
This position is available in the Toronto, ON studio.
Responsibilities include:
- Driving the marketing, communication and public relations strategy of Big Viking Games
- Contributing to internal communication strategies, and executing well coordinated messaging campaigns to ensure internal Vikings are “in the know”
- Managing and optimizing the corporate marketing budget to achieve well defined objectives and KPIs
- Being responsible for managing the design & development of marketing assets that help push brand objectives with both in-house and external creative resources
- Building out and maintaining company brand guidelines
- Coordinating and identifying key conferences and events to attend, and executing events both internally and externally
- Developing stories that present the company and its products in a way that achieves marketing & PR objectives
- Developing & maintaining strong relationships with media outlets, industry associations, and relevant government agencies
- Ensuring all marketing materials are congruent with brand guidelines, achieve objectives, and within corporate market budgets
- Managing and developing the social media strategy & presence, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, etc. as well as the company’s website and blog
- Developing company presentation materials
- Collaborating with publishing and management teams to drive strategic business development initiatives
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Marketing or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, preference given to those with previous marketing experience within a gaming company
- 1+ years of experience in a press/media relations type of position, preference given to those with previous direct in-house or agency PR experience
- MBA with focus in marketing a plus
- Experience with inbound marketing (especially using inbound for recruiting) a strong plus
- Those passionate about video games are strongly preferred
- Experience in fast paced, high growth startups a strong plus
- Experience developing and executing company wide marketing strategy and campaigns
- Experience in business development capacity a plus
- Understanding of the preparation and scheduling required for well developed marketing campaigns
- Extraordinary verbal and written communication skill
- Ability to multitask and take on diverse projects involving multiple factors with a strong track record of delivering against aggressive timelines
- Data-driven approach to decision making along with a passion for tackling ambitious problems
- A strong record of developing solid working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Proficiency in prototyping and communicating desired marketing materials
- Strong creative and design sense
- Exceptional skills in PowerPoint/Keynote, proficient with Excel and Word
