Role Summary:
 
The Digital Communications Specialist is a digital subject matter expert who collaborates with Enterprise Services, Corporate Marketing and Communications and business partners to meet business objectives through new and existing digital solutions with measurable results.
 
The specialist provides consulting and support on content management, design, usability, information architecture, project management, tool selection, content publishing, and web analytics. The role requires a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail and the ability to be flexible and manage multiple priorities.
 
Main accountabilities:
  • Project manage and execute digital marketing initiatives, business partner web requests and small projects, working closely with internal and external resources and agencies as needed to complete projects successfully in terms of quality, cost and duration.
  • Contribute to the intranet road map and help define the strategy, governance and best practices for the intranet.
  • Manage digital projects including the content management, design, development, usability, information architecture and requirements for the intranet.
  • Manage digital requests and inquiries within service level standards.
  • Work with business partners to create a holistic employee experience that supports the enterprise strategy and the change priorities       
  • Provide digital solutions that meet the objectives and audience expectations with measurable results   
  • Be a knowledgeable resource of Digital Communication services and, more broadly, well informed of general digital practices and trends affecting web, social media and mobile channels       
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, identify opportunities, determine recommendations, develop potential solutions and provide consultation to the stakeholders  
  • Continually evaluate the success of each digital vehicle to ensure goals and objectives are achieved
  • Manage business partner and vendor relationships to ensure strategic and tactical implementation of campaigns are efficient, effective, meet objectives and are measurable
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to ensure collaborative approach to planning and implementation of initiatives
  • Establish, implement and monitor digital communication standards to promote consistency and efficiency in keeping with best practices and SLF brand standards
Competencies:
  • In depth digital marketing and communications skills.
  • In depth analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: must me able to influence and negotiate with people from diverse backgrounds and levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient project management skills.
  • Solid understanding of digital technologies and marketing techniques and how they can be leveraged including digital marketing, design, development, usability, information architecture, web analytics, SEO/SEM, mobile and social media.
  • Discretion and diplomacy in dealing with stakeholders.
  • Ability to think and act strategically; able to manage multiple high priority projects.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity.
  • Superior attention to detail.
Assets:
  • University or college degree.
  • Formal education in HTML.
  • Experience with the WEM content management tool or other online publishing tools.
  • Knowledge of web usability and website accessibility guidelines
  • Experience with Webtrends
  • Experience with Collaboration tools
