Job Description
*** Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 9pm to 5am. ***
Reporting to the Warehousing and Shipping Manager, the Shipping Supervisor monitors operations of the Warehouse/Shipping Department to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures included in the operating plan are met, such as those related to health and safety, standard costs, cost reductions, productivity, good manufacturing practices, sanitation, customer satisfaction, production scheduling and staffing. The incumbent participates to maintain the requirements on food safety, quality and defense.
In addition, the Shipping Supervisor co-ordinates shipping operations, using the Dairy Management System (DMS) to conduct simulations of loads against real time inventory to balance loads across multiple trailers, validate weight, and determine whether there are any shortages. Utilising the DMS, the Supervisor will assign loads to lanes and loading doors while ensuring the integrity of shipping schedules. The supervisor will perform other duties as assigned, including security access of the DMS and the day to day administration of the DMS.
The successful candidate is expected to promote and enhance a positive employee relation’s environment including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement.
A university degree or college diploma in a relevant field;
Experience as a supervisor directly involved in shipping and warehousing, preferably with refrigerated, limited shelf life food product;
Demonstrated interpersonal, communication, leadership skills and the ability to work in a team environment;
Experience in health and safety leadership, HACCP, SQF, quality assurance and good manufacturing practices;
Strong computer literacy, ideally with MS Office (Word & Excel) and DMS.
