Market Overview:
St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market is located at the edge of Waterloo. This world famous farmers’ market is home to over 400 vendors and is open year round. The market is a vibrant part of this community and supported by loyal customers from both near and far. The market is a high energy event that opens for business every Thursday and Saturday year round as well as Tuesdays during the summer season.

 

Property Manager
We are seeking a strong leader who is passionate about providing superior customer service to over 400 small business vendors, our community and our guests. Reporting to the Director of Market Operations the right candidate will be an enthusiastic and confident leader with strong organizational and
development skills. The candidate we are looking for must be experienced in managing a multi faceted operation.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and job functions include but are not limited to the following:
To oversee the daily management of the Farmers’ Market and on site tenants with specific
responsibilities for the maintaining of grounds and buildings.
To provide exceptional service to both vendors and market guests
Provide coaching and mentoring to the Market Managers, Supervisors, Maintenance and Janitorial Staff.

 

  • Responsible to oversee and direct the market office as it pertains to procurement of new vendors, invoicing and rent collections.
  • Consistent development. monitoring ! and follow up of
  • Market Policies and Procedures.
  • Day to day management of the properties by touring properties to check for deficiencies and
    maintenance issues
  • To develop long range plans and goals for the maintenance and improvement of the property. To work closely with the maintenance team to meet these goals.
  • To effectively handle all Customer and Vendor concerns and complaints by way of follow up and resolution in a professional and timely manner.
  • Develop effective goals and action plans.
  • To be first aid trained and quickly respond to any emergency situation that may arise.
  • To oversee service contractors delivery of routine maintenance.
  • To maintain order and ensure safety in high volume environment.

 

Qualifications;

  • Minimum 5 years management experience with a relevant post secondary education.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, motivate and develop a team.
  • Highly motivated, organized and goal oriented individual who thrives under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication.
  • Professional in presentation and demeanor.
  • Strong computer skills and IT support
  • Knowledgeable in Word and Excel
  • Must have Saturday availability
