Job Description
Caring Connections Callers make weekly calls to Persons Living with Dementia (PLWD) or Care Partners (CP). This is a meaningful engagement role where you as the volunteer will have a caseload of clients that you work with on a weekly basis to build rapport and support the needs of the clients.
PLWD who are referred into the program may be lonely and isolated, at risk of further cognitive decline, be challenged with other risk factors, or have a care partner who is dealing with their own health issues.
Care Partners who are referred into the program may be at risk or experiencing burnout, feeling lonely, or who may have their own health challenges.
In this role you will be a friendly voice on the other end of the phone who will offer support, be empathetic, and suggest resources internally/externally as needed.
We provide in depth training for this role, but you must be a professional, retiree, current or past student in the healthcare field. We screen all volunteers and will ask for your qualifications for this role.
This role operate out of our London office at 435 Windermere Rd and the weekly shifts are Monday- Thursday either 9:00am-12:00pm or 1:00pm-4:00pm.
We are currently in need of volunteers for all morning shifts and afternoon shifts on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.
