Job Description
Do you enjoy project work as well as research and development in the engineering field? If you would like to work for an automotive industry leader that uses state-of-the-art technology then you have arrived at the right opportunity! This is a full-time permanent position that requires the right candidate with strong mathematical and communication skills.
Reporting to the engineering manager, the project engineer will develop automotive products and processes while focusing on weight reduction and decreasing product or manufacturing cost. The succesful candidate will define process and materials performance, cost, and validation targets. In addition to documenting and presenting assigned project results, the project engineer will propose new research areas and projects in compliance with regulatory requirements. Identify current product and process technologies in the market as well collaborate with suppliers to identify new technologies. Liaise between manufacturing facilities and customer. Manage product design issues and support issue resolution in accordance with the customer timeline. Other duties as required.

Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent statistical analysis skills
- CATIA v5/Unigraphics proficiency an asset
- DFMEA/PFMEA an asset
- Experience with Cimatron and MS Office as asset
- Experience with Composite materials and manufacturing an asset
- Experience in plastic processing an asset
