Position

Trans-mit Steel serves local markets by providing high-grade electrical steel and components to the electrical transformer industry. We are seeking a detail orientated and self driven individual for the position of Logistics Coordinator for our Sales department. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to support the execution of day to day operations reporting to the Assistant Sales Manager. Optimizing productivity and internal and external customer relations is key to delivering on Sales Team objectives.       

Responsibilities Include but NOT Limited to:

  •  Organizing product for delivery to customer including shipment scheduling, truck booking, documentation and warehouse support
  • Develop, revise and maintain processes related to shipment and receiving of goods/materials
  • Coordinate order entry/purchase requests, ship dates, ship method(s) and product configuration to ensure on time delivery to customers and within customer specifications.
  • Coordinate invoicing and Proof of Delivery
  • Generate PO’s in ERP system (Infor Visual, Microsoft Dynamics)
  • Coordinate closely with both internal and external customers such as Shipping / Receiving, Sales, Accounting etc.
  • Organize import/export of goods and materials
  • All other Duties as assigned

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • Experience with logistics processes and procedures
  • Proven Problem Solving, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Strong Communication skills, customer focused
  • Highly organized and detail orientated with the ability to adapt to change and remain focused under pressure.
  • Work independently as well as demonstrated success in a team environment.
  • Ability to Multi-task
  • Flexible to the changing needs of a growing company
  • Maintain cleanliness of work station and meet 5S requirements
  • Participate in all required Safety training provided by the company, practice safe working habits and report any recognized workplace hazards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross functional departments and employees
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English (both oral and written forms) to various levels within the organization
  • Ability to learn new work instructions and procedures through on-the-job training and experience

 

Technical Knowledge:

 
  • Basic knowledge of logistics and procedures
  • Experience with customs documentation and import/export of commercial products
  • 1-3 Years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Microsoft Applications

Other Skills Required:

 
  • Independent problem solver and able to work in a team environment
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with a diverse cross section of employees

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum Years Experience:1-3 Years

Required Education:

  • Secondary School Diploma or Equivalent
