The Department of Information Technology Services (ITS) is a central source committed to providing high-quality, cost-effective technology solutions and services to the campus community in support of the teaching and research missions of the University. ITS works collaboratively with other IT groups within Western's faculties and support units to leverage central supported technology solutions and services where it makes sense.
 
The Project Manager will manage various projects within ITS which directly impact Western's best student experience initiative and the teaching mission of the University as a whole. In addition, this role will work to mature the department's project management tools and processes.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   University Degree, preferably in a technical field (eg: Computer Science, Software Development, Software Engineering)
-   Project Manager Professional Certification  

Experience:
-   3 years' work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution.
-   3 years' work experience in a technical environment
-   Strong familiarity with project management software is preferred
-   Experience in an educational environment is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-   Proficient at office software, including managing email
-   Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to complete detailed analytics and reports and lead business discussions
-   Ability and willingness to stay abreast of technological developments and commitment to professional development
-   Critical thinking and discernment to assess and scope areas for improvement and an ability to offer creative solutions
-   Strong customer service skills to handle inquiries and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner
-   Applies attention to detail to routine tasks and takes initiative to ensure that outcomes meet internal and external customer requirements and quality
-   Adapts efficiently to emerging priorities and technologies
-   Works independently on tasks after appropriate training and make day-to-day decisions based on established guidelines
-   Identifies and documents processes within area of responsibility, including areas which need improvement
-   Asks questions and gathers information prior to taking on new tasks
-   Establishes a broad base of relationships
-   Exceptional organizational skills, including managing multiple competing priorities and an ability to adapt quickly to emerging priorities, leveraging their organized and effective personal work environment
-   Well-developed presentation and public speaking skills in both creating and delivering presentations, including conducting training sessions and instructing others on areas of expertise
-   Investigates defined issues, solicits input, suggests remedies, and alternative approaches that meet the needs of the situation
-   Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
-   Builds both formal and informal professional relationships within, across, and external to organizational boundaries
