Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant
The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) has been in existence since 1989 and is the largest Branch of Hockey Canada. The OHF operates within a structure of 7 Member Partners with over 220,000 players, 33,500 coaches and 7,000 officials.
The OHF is hiring an employee for the position of Bookkeeper/Financial Admin. This is a great opportunity for someone with a financial background looking to work in sport. The successful applicant must possess financial or bookkeeping experience, proficiency with bookkeeping computer software and strong computer and organizational skills.

Position:                                              Bookkeeper/Financial Admin (Part-Time)
Reports to:                                           Executive Director
General Responsibilities:                     To handle the bookkeeping responsibilities for the Federation and to provide support to the general office operations and other areas determined by the Executive Director

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Handling the bookkeeping requirements including:
    • Recording the financial transactions of the Federation into Sage 50;
    • Completing Bank reconciliations on a monthly basis;
    • Preparing the monthly financial statements for the Federation;
    • Preparing and filing HST returns;
    • Preparing cheques, deposits, bill payments, electronic payments, etc.; and
    • Preparing materials for the OHF Budget and Audit cycles.
  • Maintaining a common electronic file of the Federation’s documents.
  • Work with other Branch Staff to support services related to financial information.
  • Preparation of documents and presentations in Word, Excel, Excel GL, Sage 50, Adobe and PowerPoint.
  • Other duties as determined by the Executive Director.
Proposed Starting Date: August 31, 2015 or sooner
Work Schedule: 24 hours/week (schedule determined with successful candidate)
Hourly Rate: $15/hour
