Goodwill Industries is a non-profit, social enterprise that recycles donated goods and provides employment services to create opportunity for meaningful work. We currently have a contract opportunity for:
Regional Manager
(Kitchener, Waterloo, Guelph & area)
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Regional Manager will lead and oversee multiple retail stores and store operations within Ontario Great Lakes. They will govern in accordance with company policies and procedures, attain financial contribution and focus on the development of all employees to meet our mission of Changing Lives through the power of work.

Regional Manager

Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Regional Manager will lead and oversee multiple retail stores and store operations within Ontario Great Lakes. They will govern in accordance with company policies and procedures, attain financial contribution and focus on the development of all employees to meet our mission of Changing Lives through the power of work.
Principal Position Responsibilities:
- Train and supervise store teams in the effective adherence to operational procedures and standards.
- Apply expert knowledge of the Ontario Health & Safety Act requirements and ensure adherence in all locations. Identify risks, enforce, interpret and comply with company policies, procedures and standards.
- Responsible for store sales, ensuring managers are obtaining sales goals while operating within given budgets and maintaining desired profit levels.Monitor and analyze all stores, transportation, and salvage operations’ reports.
- Actively promote Goodwill Industries, Ontario Great Lakes and foster a positive brand image within the community. Participate in community business groups, develop and maintain new community relationships, participate in initiatives and fundraisers.
- Coordinate store special events in assigned region. This could include and is not limited to managing store openings ie: work to identify real estate opportunities, liaison with contractors, oversee store progress and identify and action any deficiencies prior to opening.
- Lead and provide guidance in support of all HR goals; performance management, progressive discipline and personal & performance development.
- Conduct monthly store manager meetings and maintain a regular visit schedule to ensure compliance to standards in areas of health & safety, product quality, quantity, merchandising, stock rotation, loss prevention, customer service, process improvement, material collection, pricing and personnel policies.
Qualified Candidates Will Possess:
- BA or Master’s Degree in business or related field preferred.
- Five year’s work experience in a retail, multi-unit people management role with proven leadership abilities.
- Work experience managing in a manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of Lean processing methodologies.
- Work experience managing adherence to standard operating procedures using exceptional problem solving and conflict resolutions skills.
- Strong proficiency with computers and relevant software.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Vulnerable Screening Check from Local Police Service required.
- Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts when required as part of the team.
- Ability to reach, bend, twist and lift up to 20 kg.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to Goodwill’s liability insurance requirements.
