Facilities Technician

Our client, a progressive property management firm with “state of the art” commercial and institutional properties, is looking to add a Facilities Technician to their technical team.  This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on, building operations professional to join a great company.  The position’s major responsibility will be the operation, maintenance and custodial care of two facilities located in Waterloo.

What you will be doing:

• Perform maintenance on water treatment systems, HVAC and compressed air systems
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical operating equipment, building environmental systems and grounds at facilities.
• Perform custodial services to meet the requirements of a safe and reliable workplace
• Trouble shoot building automation systems and building systems to eliminate issues and affect repairs
• Perform minor repairs and general maintenance

What skills you need to have:

• Must have knowledge of building maintenance and operation, maintenance management systems and procedures.
• Must have advanced knowledge of HVAC, boilers, chillers, compressed air and plumbing systems
• Must possess Trade certification such as a Gas Technician I certificate, an HVAC technician certification, Red Seal Interprovincial Millwright’s ticket or Red Seal Electricians Ticket.
• Must have knowledge of electrical systems and building automation (BAS) systems
• Must have a strong background in preventative maintenance and setting up maintenance programs
• Must have at least 5 years of continuous experience operating and maintaining commercial and/or institutional buildings.
