Lucas Professional Search Group is currently recruiting for a Registered Nurse for an internationally known manufacturing facility in the Oakville, Ontario area. The main role of the RN will be to provide nursing and medical support to hourly and salaried employees and work closely with the plant doctor.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work as part of the health care team providing health education, primary assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services
• Assist individuals in maintaining optimum health and well-being
• Treatment and follow-up of occupational illness/injury
• Assist with WSIB claims and return to work programs as needed
• Assist doctors who provide medical services
• Provide first aid training as required
• Coordinate the reporting process for injuries, testing, etc.
• Administration and documentation including injury, examinations, assessments, testing, clinic activities, hazardous situations, health counseling and health education

Qualifications:

• University Degree in Science, Nursing or equivalent
• 3+ years in an occupational health setting
• Currently registered with the College of Nurses and have completed first-aid and CPR training
• Possess or are working towards Occupational Health Nursing Certification with training in audiometery, pulmonary function, and advanced physical assessment skills
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act
• Must possess strong interpersonal skills, decision-making ability, organizational skills, and communication skills
• Must be available to work shift works (days/afternoons/midnights) and weekends
