Job Description
Under the direction of the General Manager at Seacliff Manor Retirement Residence, the Recreation Manager is responsible for planning and implementing a portfolio of state-of-the-art events, continuing education, and entertainment curriculum to meet the specific interests, cultural background and history of our residents.

Responsibilities Include:• Planning, developing, implementing and monitoring of recreation and leisure service delivery including social, recreational, physical, and spiritual programs.
• Recruiting and monitoring performance of recreation staff, volunteers and student placements.
• Maintain approved operational budgets.
• Facilitating and maintaining community integration and involvement.
• Organizing, writing, printing and distributing the facility monthly newsletter.
• Supporting and facilitating the residents' council as requested by the residents.
• Assist bus driver as required for planned outings.
• Formal Recreation or related certification
• Previous experience developing and implementing innovative recreational activities, preferably in a seniors’ environment
• Previous experience and knowledge in memory care stimulation and programs required.
• Proven success recruiting and working with volunteers
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to speak formally in individual or group settings for presentations, teaching or promotion
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel and Outlook
• Must hold or be willing to obtain Class F license.
