Faculty of Science, Trades and Technology

Location:  London
Employment Group:  Faculty - Temporary
Hours of Work per Week:  Up to 6 hours per week. Mainly daytime hours, but some evening teaching may be required.

The School of Transportation Technology and Apprenticeship is looking for temporary Part-time Professors able to provide both theoretical and practical instruction in the following areas:
  • Truck and Coach Technician
  • Motive Power/Automotive Service Technician
  • Automotive Service Management and Automotive Sales
  • Agricultural Repair Technician (425A)
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required
  • Teaching experience with hybrid and/or online delivery preferred

SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

Part-time Professor - Truck and Coach Technician
  • 310T Red Seal designation required
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience required
  • Preference given to candidates with teaching experience
  • Experience working with equity deserving groups is an asset

Part-time Professor - Motive Power/Automotive Service Technician
  • 310S Red Seal designation is required
  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience is required
  • Preference given to candidates with teaching experience
  • Experience working with equity deserving groups is an asset

Part-time Professor - Automotive Service Management and Automotive Sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required
  • Recent and relevant experience required in Automotive Sales or Service Advisor experience in the automotive industry
  • Ability to speak multiple languages is an asset
  • Experience working with equity deserving groups is an asset

Part-time Professor - Agricultural Equipment Technician (425A)
  • 7 years’ of experience minimum

While transcripts are not required for the interview, they are mandatory prior to any offer of employment.
