What is a Project Engineer?
The Project Engineer will complete design review to support configuration of products to customer specifications, in compliance with national regulatory requirements by using thorough knowledge of design practices and good engineering concepts. Perform a variety of engineering work in design and development of manufacturing specifications for component parts and assemblies, planning, computer-aided design, testing and analysis.

What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have three years’ experience in gas process, piping/systems design, fabrication and project installation and be familiar with both 2D and 3D CAD systems.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Complete and manage Enervac product engineering and design.
2. Complete mechanical and electrical project engineering & design using CAD.
3. Design and oversee the build and factory testing of the unit and control systems for our systems, including the electrical panels, the PLC program, HMI program and specifying the necessary components.
4. Develop bills of material, drawings and documentation to include design criteria, part numbers, assembly diagrams and standard products, etc.
5. Project component specification and sourcing.
6. Prepare customer drawings and detailed drawings.
7. Research and development for design of new Enervac products.
8. Provide training, servicing and commissioning of Enervac equipment.
9. Act as client liaison to provide application, technical, installation and trouble-shooting consultation with customers, sales and Company departments.
10. Project testing, certification and preparation of instruction manuals.
11. Direct maintenance of certain department technical data on component parts, customer blueprints and specifications.
12. Work with manufacturing, purchasing and sales on selecting new materials and processes for new and existing items.
13. Work with internal resources to optimize the offerings for equipment.
14. Compliance and understanding of all related legislative and corporate criteria.
15. Design components within various regulatory agency requirements and Company standards.
16. Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc.
17. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
18. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
19. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
20. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
21. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
22. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
 
Required Experience and Education
  • Four year degree in engineering required. Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering preferred or seven years engineering experience in a related industry.
  • Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English.
  • Three years’ experience in gas process, piping/systems design, fabrication and project installation preferred.
  • Familiar with both 2D and 3D CAD systems (Solidworks preferred).        
  • Strong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-directed with ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply product knowledge and past experience to make independent decisions.
  • Ability to function and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals. Technical sales experience a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office products and the AS400 financial/inventory system.


Physical and Technical Environment
• Minimal lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally. • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. • Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs. • Clean and orderly manufacturing environment and/or normal office conditions. • Some travel required, exposure to varying environments and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints. • Proficient in MS Office products and the AS400 ERP system.
