Senior Product Development Engineer
Our client is a world class automotive tier one manufacturer with highly automated equipment that supports machining and casting operations. On their behalf, we are looking to identify a Senior Product Development Engineer to drive business with OEM clients. You are responsible for all technical aspects of programs during the advanced engineering stage through to design sign off. An understanding of foundry operations and capabilities is essential.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide direction internally on client requirements
- Support APQP activity and ensure client specifications are accurate
- Support e client relationship through Program and Account Managers
- Collaborate with client on their expectations and technological advances
- Lead design and development within a Tier One operation (foundry and machining)
- Develop new product and material application
- Support innovation through collaborative approach across corporate operations
- Manage success of DFMEA
- Contribute to overall program management and completion
- Adhere to corporate guidelines
Key Qualifications:
- University Degree in Engineering, must be eligible for P.Eng
- Minimum of 10 years related experience in an automotive operation
- Working knowledge of design requirements within an OEM/Tier One environment
- Comprehensive understanding of product development, supporting an OEM
- Good understanding of lean principles, six sigma an asset
- Demonstrable project and/or program planning skills
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Ability to travel
