Job Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Operations Manager or designate, the Field Engineer provides support and assistance to ensure the smooth execution of the assigned project. Responsibilities are varied but include documentation and information management, record keeping, cost control, coordinating timely delivery of supplies and material, tracking project progress, maintaining project files, ensuring quality control and safety, trouble shooting and follow up. The Field Engineer will liaise with the Regional Office, customer, and other key stakeholders as related to the project.

This is an entry level position intended to provide training for advancement to more senior level positions in the Company.

Key Accountabilities:
1. Performs duties related to site administration including management of project related information and documentation, maintenance of project file, review of completed time sheets, processing of invoices and bills of lading, tracking and reporting of production quantities and equipment used.
2. Develops and coordinates a schedule of activities to meet timelines and deliverables outlined in the Project Plan, resolves issues and recommends other action as necessary.
3. Coordinates material delivery to the job site, following up on discrepancies or variances.
4. Ensures appropriate control and organization of project related documentation including maintenance of project files, permits and certificates, weekly updating of budget and quantities progress, equipment tracking (owned, leased, rental and owner supplied).
5. Provides assistance to the (Assistant Superintendant) in the management of contracts, maintenance of cost reports, setting up cost codes, progress payments, tracking and invoicing extras/claims, and contract submissions.
6. Acts as a leader in Quality Control and Safety by adhering to and promoting plans, policies and procedures.
7. Acts as a liaison with key stakeholders such as the Regional Office, owners, PNR Corporate or other external parties providing clarification, information and updates as necessary.
8. Performs other related administrative or project based duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
• Undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
• Familiarity with the construction industry and general concepts of project management.

• Computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Exceptional analytical, planning, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work to deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively in a team.
• Ability to lead self, show initiative and commitment to task.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to see the bigger picture.
• Clean driving record and ability to travel as required.
Physical Requirements

Working Conditions:
• Travel to job sites is required.
• Exposure to outdoor construction sites in all weather conditions.
• Work is in and around live track (trains).
• Work may be in urban, rural or isolated areas.
