Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP) located in St. Marys, Ontario, the largest Veterinary supplies distributor in Ontario is currently looking to add a dynamic individual to our VP team for the full time position of:

                                               BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE ANALYST

Reporting to the CFO, this individual is responsible for administering and maintaining a portion of our company software systems, with primary focus being Cognos analytical software. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated, organized, and have experience developing, implementing and supporting IT solutions.

Responsibilities include:

• Work closely with the CFO to provide end-to-end Business Intelligence solutions from data source to reports or analysis
• Proactively communicate project deliverable status, issues and risks to management
• Responsible for creation and monitoring of ETL processes to extract, load, and transform data from diverse sources into the data warehouse.
• Develop and support the front-end solutions for Cognos integration, along with training business users
• Consult with business users, determine requirements and recommend database establishment and utilization
• Design, create and maintain ad-hoc and persistent reporting using Cognos (cubes and packets) and MS Excel
• Research, recommend, and implement additional software to assist other departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Customer Service

 
The successful candidate should have:

• Extensive experience with Cognos 10 database administration and design using IBM Framework Manager
• A degree or diploma in computer science, or relative experience.
• Highly proficient in end-to-end data warehouse development with focus on requirement gathering, designing, developing and deploying BI solutions.
• Expert data modelling skills
• Analytical problem-solving skills, able to quickly identify and troubleshoot technical challenges.
• Strong communication and organization skills. 
• Able to work under pressure managing multiple competing priorities and quickly adapting to emerging priorities.
• AS400 experience an asset
