Position Summary
This is a start up operations opportunity for an energetic, self-starter HR Manager who will be accountable for the development and implementation of human resources policies, procedures and practices for a manufacturing facility. The successful incumbent will work with the management team and implement plans and programs at the facility to ensure the most effective orientation and utilization of human resources to support the Plant’s objectives. Priorities will center on developing and promoting positive employee relations and developing a culture of operational excellence. This position reports to the Senior Director, Human Resources Operations (East).

Some Key Accountabilities Are:
- Developing and executing a recruitment plan to ensure the plant is staffed as per requirements to optimize production.
- Develop and implement an effective orientation program for all plant employees introducing employees to operational excellence.
- Promotes positive employee relations through the development and implementation of HR practices and processes in collaboration with Plant Manager and HR Centres of Excellence.
- Collaborate with the Health & Safety Specialist to ensure workplace health and safety.
- Establishing communication and other effective practices between management and employees that promotes a culture of excellence.
- Relevant post-secondary education (degree) with formal HR training
- 3 to 5 years experience in a Generalist capacity within the manufacturing industry is an asset.
- Unionized environment experience.
- Experience in greenfield operations.
- Strong recruitment, orientation and training background
- Strong leadership skills – communications; strategic and tactical ability; self-starter; ability to influence and build relationships.
