The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University has a long tradition of excellence, beginning with the founding of the medical school in 1881 and dental school in 1964.  Schulich's reputation has been built by dedicated teachers, breakthrough discoveries, commitment to social responsibility and strong strategic partnerships.  The mission of the Medical Imaging department is to provide and lead excellence in medical imaging for our patients with an Academic and Clinical focus of an Academic Health Sciences Center and Network.
 
Responsibilities
The Manager, Administration & Finance provides strategic leadership and stewardship to the department of Medical Imaging. As a member of the management team, the Manager, Administration & Finance assists in establishing the vision for, and directs the financial and administrative functions of the Department. 

The incumbent will ensure that appropriate financial and administrative procedures and practices are in place, in accordance with University and Hospital polices, to meet the multiple missions of medical education program delivery, research and scholarly work, and provision of medical services by full-time clinical academic faculty, and community-based faculty of the Department.  The incumbent also ensures continuity of administrative operations throughout changes in clinical academic leadership in a complex and interwoven institutional environment.
 
  Qualifications
  Education:
-   Honours University Degree in Business, Administration, or Healthcare or related field
-   Master's Degree, or enrolled in or completed CIM preferred
-   Accounting and/or Human Resources designation preferred

Experience:
-   5 years' senior management experience with human resources, financial, administrative and operational responsibilities
-   5 years' supervisory experience
-   Experience in strategic planning, implementation and operationalization
-   Experience in a unionized public sector environment preferred
-   Experience in a clinical academic environment preferred

Skills & Expertise:
-   Knowledge of University policies and procedures, Employment Standards Act (ESA), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Collective Agreements at Western, and PeopleSoft
-   Staff management experience with an ability to develop and foster a strong team
-   Ability to work effectively and contribute as a member of senior management
-   Demonstrated analytical ability with a working knowledge of accounting principles
-   Advanced skills in Microsoft Office; knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred
-   Must be flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities and competing demands on your time
-   Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with other departments and key business partners
-   Problem solving skills with a consultative and collaborative approach to addressing issues and opportunities
-   Strong record of teamwork with the motivation and ability to work independently and with little supervision
-   Professional manner, tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with colleagues, students and senior management
-   Solid oral and written communication skills with an emphasis on policy and process proposals to service recipients
-   Ability to provide solutions by using imaginative approaches where constructive thinking and innovation are required
-   Effective delegation and workload planning techniques
-   Coaching and the ability to motivate and engage others
-   Conflict management and negotiation skills
-   Excellent presentation skills (both creating and performing presentations)
