Eclipse Scientific is seeking an experienced Mfg Engineer/Technologist to support our fast paced, progressive organization in the ongoing product development of state-of-the-art NDT inspection capabilities. We are seeking candidates who are experienced in assembly, fitting, installing and testing pre-fabricated mechanical or electrical components, using a variety of tools and equipment, to form sub-assemblies or finished products that are inspected for faults, functionality etc. at all stages of assembly process according to CAD Models/Drawings, Mechanical-Electrical Diagrams, sketches, written instructions and required specifications.

We are seeking candidates who are experienced in assembly, fitting, installing and testing pre-fabricated mechanical or electrical components, using a variety of tools and equipment, to form sub-assemblies or finished products that are inspected for faults, functionality etc. at all stages of assembly process according to CAD Models/Drawings, Mechanical-Electrical Diagrams, sketches, written instructions and required specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and related documents to determine component parts, assembly methods and sequence of operations
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency and product quality
- Develop production assembly processes while considering innovative methods to improve on existing
- Develop production cost, schedule, equipment requirements, area layouts and manpower requirements
- Lead new mfg implementation projects and develop costing and pricing for new processes
- Implement corrective and preventive actions related to production non-conformances
- Support Engineering efforts through design and production assembly implementation
- Create and maintain BOM and instructions that accurately reflect actual processes
- Maintain Engineering files
Candidates must have:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical field an asset
- 2+ years related experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment
- Good computer skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
- Be organized and following a systematic method of performing a task
- Ability to comprehend technical instructions, topics and specialized information
- Working knowledge of inspection tools and procedures
- Able to hand fit complex, close tolerance, machine work
- Ability to lift loads up to 23kg (as per NIOSH)
