Job Description
A full-time technical grant and narrative writer is needed to join a dynamic team in Cambridge, Ontario. NorthBridge Consultants assists small- and medium-sized businesses to optimize their return from government funding programs. NorthBridge requires a technical writer to assist with government grant applications and narratives for tax credit applications. This is a full-time salaried position with benefits.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the technical writer will develop and refine written communications, narratives, business plans, and documentation for government funding applications. Primary duties include
- Communicating with the engineering team and clients to gather and analyze information, provide progress updates and assist in reporting.
- Researching and writing business plans and market research plans, and assimilating technical information from various science and engineering fields.
- Coordinating, editing and writing narratives, project documents and forms.
- Assembling documentation required to fulfill government requirements.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should have the following skills/qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to create, edit, and organize technical and business documentation/reports
- A team player with experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong analytical skills and ability to grasp new concepts
- High attention to detail, pride in workmanship and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- A college or university degree in a field of Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, English studies or a related field.
The following are considered assets, but not required:
- Science, Engineering, Business or Math course credits
- Exposure to manufacturing and/or digital media
- Experience with grant writing
