As a Materials Planner, this role pays attention to whether the materials needed are available as required by their assigned product line/components, so that the Master Production Schedule is executed. This role is primarily concerned with daily tracking and trouble-shooting, and with providing a conduit between Production and Purchasing, to ensure the integrity of the Schedule, and Production continuity. 

Responsibilities

  • Report and expedite material shortages to ensure continuous manufacturing flow.
  • Schedule project, conversion work orders and load forecast demand as required through S&OP.
  • Support Manufacturing Production Schedule by analyzing MRP and sub-assemblies and release work orders accordingly.
  • Act as liaison between purchasing and manufacturing to clear up shortages.
  • Maintain various data bases that support manufacturing system.
  • Assist in enhancing Materials Management systems, introducing new products, product end of life and controlling inventory through our manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Materials Management Diploma and/or CPIM designation.
  • Experience as a team leader for Planning & Scheduling in a manufacturing environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
  • Experience with MRP, JIT and Inventory Management Systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
