APPLICATIONS ENGINEER
 
Our client located minutes from London, ON is currently searching for an APPLICATION ENGINEER to join their growing team.  As a key adviser to the sales team, you will be responsible for providing technically effective and commercially considered automation solutions, as directed by the Customer Relations Manager. 
The ideal candidate will be willing to “go above and beyond the call of duty” to achieve project outcomes successfully!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Develop quotations that accurately and concisely state the project scope and functional requirements are cost efficient and completed within the timeline provided
•Full review of the application and development of professionally packaged quotations containing a high level of refinement and accuracy
•Review and analyze customer documents, requests for quotes, customer facility and equipment, product designs to ensure concept is optimized and effective
•Work with systems engineers to generate unique concepts to provide cutting edge automation solutions and complete testing on concepts created
•Research key project components and request quote to identify technical capability and cost directly from the supplier
•Complete accurate costing for quotes by individually analyzing time and material requirements for each aspect of the project
•Present quotes both internally and externally to explain concept and validate budget
•Attend new business meetings weekly to discuss priorities and future opportunities
•Create and develop quote templates to improve quoting accuracy and consistency
•Identify quoting inefficiencies and work with team to find solutions in order to maximize output
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Degree or Diploma in Engineering
Quoting an entire System not just parts is a must have
•Minimum of 4-5 years of automation experience
•Microsoft Office, DraftSight, Epicor, Solidworks, AutoCAD
•Expert knowledge in at least one specific area of automation or automation components
•Technical knowledge to understand the mechanics of automation
•Ability to mechanical design drawings and create 2D drawings
•Understanding of General Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
•Knowledge of costing within automation, critical thinking/problem solving
•Knowledge of commercial industry and sales
•Understanding machine build specifications
