POSITION OVERVIEW
 
As our Business Development Representative, you will work closely with local branch teams while leveraging your prospecting and closing skills in pursuit of new business. The majority of your time will be spent managing a sales pipeline and selling FBC Memberships to rural entrepreneurs: farm and small business owners. You will manage your territory sales by meeting with prospects and existing clients in their places of business. We will provide extensive and ongoing training and development – you do not need to be a tax specialist to succeed in this role.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
 
As our successful candidate, you will:
  • Successfully present and sell products and services related to tax preparation and financial planning for farms and small businesses
  • Deliver customized sales presentations which address the specific needs of prospective clients
  • Maximize market penetration by seeking out new prospects
  • Target and acquire new accounts by participating in daily appointments – following up on leads and meeting with potential new Members (clients)
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create a sales pipeline for future customers 
     
QUALIFICATIONS
 
Education and Experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in business development/sales is ideal, preferably dealing with services/intangibles
  • A post-secondary education in Business, Agriculture, Accounting, or Finance is preferred
  • Equivalent, relevant work experience will be considered
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is an asset


Other Requirements
  • The ability to work in an office as well as in a home office environment
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for out of town travel (some overnight travel may be required)
