Job Description
Regular Full-Time Position
Responsible for the provision of nursing interventions which promote and preserve the health of communities, families and individuals across the lifespan; functions as part of a multi-disciplinary team planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs and services; uses principles of community development to identify health issues, advocates for policy change; applies innovative health promotion strategies to facilitate healthy living in the community.
Education & Experience: BScN including preparation in public health nursing, Masters level an asset; current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses; experience in community based service delivery; valid Ontario driver’s license and the use of a vehicle.The preferred candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and decision-making skills in health assessment; knowledge and understanding of the core functions and approaches of public health practice; strong project management skills; has proven his/her ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team setting.
Terms and conditions of employment in accordance with the ONA Nurses’ Collective Agreement.
Starting wage range: $36.78 – $40.18/hour, 70 hours in a two week period.
