Job Description
We are currently seeking an Accounting Administrator to join our dynamic team for a contract position for approximately 6-8 months. This position is located in the Kitchener/Waterloo area and is responsible for accounting functions such as establishing and maintaining accounting principles, preparing financial statements and reporting.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Assist with ensuring the accurate representation and timely submission of financial transactions with the financial accounting system (ACCPAC) and the efficient operation of the accounting department.
• Maintains and monitors ACCPAC accounts receivables and accounts payables records for the Waterloo location, including verifying intercompany balances (AR/AP) at month and quarter ends.
• Review weekly cheque runs by verifying invoice coding; verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances; analyzing invoice/expenditure reports; recording entries.
Requirements:
• 2-3 year College Diploma in Accounting and/or Business Administration
• Extensive experience and knowledge of all aspects of corporate accounting and financial management.
• Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial and local requirements regarding financial records and the like is essential.
• Proficient communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are vital to the role.
• Financial analysis, budgeting and some strategic planning experience.
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices and applications.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
