Department: Real Estate Building Operations
Reports To: Property Director/Operations Manager
Long term, Open-Ended Contract
Pay Rate: $23/hour
The Building Operator is cross-trained to perform specific tasks at multiple propety locations, in repair, operation and maintenance of HVAC related equipment, building operations, lights/tubes and ballast, light lenses, ceiling tiles, systems furniture, plumbing and electrical/mechanical systems and equipment. Hours of work may include, days/afternoons/evenings/nights and weekends, on-call responsibilities, responding to emergency calls and sick calls as well as vacation coverage.
Mimumum Requirements
- Must have the aptitude to learn state-of-the-art building management systems for future progression
- Individual must be mechanically inclined and have minimum 3 years’ experience in building repairs/operations.
- Basic interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism and commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to perform regular inspections of building and identify, recommends and implements improvements.
- Incumbent must be in the process of obtaining a trade school license, completing formal apprenticeship training or enrolled in a building operations course such as BES or SMA from BOMI.
