Junior Accountant

Sparks Event Marketing www.sparksevents.com is a fun and exciting experiential marketing company situated in beautiful St. Jacobs Ontario. We are looking for a highly motivated and extremely organized team player to join our Finance Department as a Junior Accountant reporting to the Controller. 


Responsibilities:
 

• Administer accounts receivables including client invoicing and collection.
• Administer accounts payables including cheque runs & credit card reconciliation.
• Monthly Bank Reconciliations.
• Journal Entries.
• Assist with Month End/Year End close and file preparation.
• Monthly & Quarterly Reports.
• Timesheet approvals.
• Run monthly billing meetings with account teams.
• Employee Vacation tracking.
• Software Administration.
• Workers Compensation filing and reconciliation.
• Other duties as assigned by the Controller.

 
Qualifications:
 

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Preferably a University or Community College Graduate
• An excellent knowledge of computer programs-specifically accounting related.
• Extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills and strong multi-tasking capability.
• Customer service skills both in person and on the phone.
